Philips Okot Private African Safaris designs private, bespoke journeys for those seeking a deeper, safer, and more meaningful way to experience Africa. Founded by Philips Okot, born and raised in Africa and a former safari driver for over a decade, the company is built on firsthand knowledge of the land, the people, and the relationships that make exceptional travel possible. After moving to the United States in 2019 and building a multimillion-dollar service business, Okot Electric LLC, Philips gained a clear understanding of the expectations, concerns, and standards of today’s discerning travelers. With insight from both African and American perspectives, he recognized a gap in the safari industry, one defined not by access, but by trust. As a husband and father of four, Philips brings his children to Africa each year to experience the land, culture, and heritage firsthand. He believes the same level of access, safety, and thoughtful guidance should be extended to others. We exist to bridge that gap.

We work with a small number of clients each year to ensure every journey receives personal attention, thoughtful design, and flawless execution. Our work is suited for individuals, couples, families, principals, and private groups. While many of our journeys involve families, this service is not limited to families alone. We do not operate as a tour company. We act as a private curator and steward of access.
